Here are three common mistakes you might be making.
1. You eat junk food in between meals.
You know those highly processed foods are not healthy, even though they are quick and easy (and tasty). Have a few healthy snacks prepped in advance so that you have something quick to grab when you are hungry. There are a variety of individually portioned snacks that are filled with protein which will keep your hunger at bay in between meals.
2. You use lots of butter, oil and salt when cooking.
Yum… I know it tastes good but even Paula Dean had to lay off the butter eventually. Why? Because all that buttery goodness gave her diabetes! Try using natural seasonings and sweeteners to add flavor instead. The next time you are at the supermarket slow down and browse through all the special seasoning blends.
3. You skip meals.
When you skip meals you end up so hungry that when you finally sit down to a meal that you end up eating too much. Do you skip meals because you want to save on calories? Or do you skip meals because you haven’t taken the time to plan a healthy meal?
I make all three mistakes from at one time or another (except I don’t skip meals too often – I like to eat). Which mistake have YOU been making?
