So when’s the best time to exercise? You want to feel healthy and maybe even lose weight, so do you exercise in the morning? Evening?
You’re tired of feeling like a slug and ready to get up off the couch and get moving. Yeah I know… that’s how I felt. Like a slug. I didn’t have any energy to exercise. So I didn’t. The more you don’t exercise the less you feel like it. Then you have even less energy.
So, what’s the answer? When is the best time to exercise?
It depends. I always hate when people give me that answer, don’t you? 🙁 Can you say frustrating? That’s the answer though. It depends on you.
So, if I told you that there was one single best time, would you drop everything and hop on the treadmill? Really? If 4 AM was the absolute best time, would you set your alarm and go for a run?
There is no perfect exercise and there is no perfect time. It truly depends on you and your life. The good news is that you get to choose what’s best for you.
The truth is that the best time to exercise is when you actually do it.
(As as long as you do it.) 😉
You might want to exercise first thing in the morning so that you are done before you really even wake up. It gives you energy to start your day.
I’ve tried exercising at night. That never works for me (unless it’s yoga). The best time to exercise is when you actually do it. 🙂 #healthyliving Click To Tweet
Since I work from home, I can exercise whenever I want which means that too often I find excuses NOT to. Ideally, I get some work done in the morning and take a late morning gym break to clear my head. I come back from the gym, eat a nice healthy lunch, chat with David, and get back to work feeling energized.
Here’s how to find the best time to exercise that works for you:
- Pay attention to your schedule. When do you work? When are your kids at school?
- Pay attention to your energies. When do you need an energy boost?
- Know the kind of exercise that you like. Do you like to exercise alone? With other people? Do you like the gym? Do you prefer to be outdoors?
Here’s my truth: I really don’t like to exercise. (Did you guess?)
I finally accepted the fact that if I want to be healthy, which I do, then I need to exercise. Even though I don’t like lifting weights, I do it. The more muscle you have, the more calories you burn and the better you look in your clothes. I feed my muscles with high quality protein so that I lose fat and not muscle. I found a gym that I actually love and enjoy going to. Believe me, that makes a difference.
I love the feeling of being healthy with lots of energy to do the things that are important to me.
Find what works for you and be the best that you can be. You deserve it.
