Don’t you love it when you laugh so hard you cry (or maybe even snort a little)? When was the last time you did that? If you are like most women, it has probably been a while.
Not long ago, I was flying from San Francisco to Ft. Lauderdale watching 21 Jump Street and laughing out loud with tears running down my face. It was the red-eye flight and I was trying not to disturb the sleeping passengers around me with my uncontrollable laughter.
Making laughter a part of your life each day means that you are choosing happiness. Yes, laughter is a choice you make. We all need a good laugh, we need to lighten up and stop taking everything so seriously.Making laughter a part of your life each day means that you are choosing #happiness Click To Tweet
Children laugh 400 times per day and adults only laugh 25 times per day. Isn’t that sad? I think we would all be a lot happier if we laughed more often, don’t you?
Here are 3 Ways to Choose Happiness with Laughter
1. Watch a Funny Video
Facebook sometimes has a bad reputation but one of the things I enjoy most about it is that I find things there that make me laugh out loud. It feels good to take a quick break, watch a funny video and let out a big laugh… even better if it brings me to tears. This is one video I discovered on Facebook that I think you will also enjoy:

2. Watch a Funny Movie
If you haven’t watched a funny movie lately, make plans to head to the movie theater or rent one to watch at home. Isn’t it better to watch a funny movie that puts you in a good state of mind for hours afterward instead of a drama that makes you cry? Escape from the realities of the world with a funny movie. I asked my friends on Facebook and this is a small sampling of what I heard:

3. Read a Book and Change Your Mindset
“The Happiness Mindset does a great job of creating a truly inspiring guide book to be happy. The 12 strategies introduced by Brandon Stanberg are great and applicable to your everyday life. I already have implemented a few of them after reading through it and I already feel happier and inspired.” says Paris Carter.
“I have a confession. Like the author of 10% Happier, I have an inner voice. A voice that is part fairy godmother, most troll under the bridge. A voice that can reassure but more often than not disparages. A voice that never shuts up. Buddhists call this voice “the monkey mind”, the mind that all humans possess and the mind that Dan Harris tames with meditation. With surprising candor and wicked humor Harris chronicles his long and strange journey to become a better man.” says C.R. Hurst
I hope you find something that makes you laugh today. At the very least, put a smile on your face even if you don’t feel like smiling – that simple act can improve your mood.
