There is no denying that tough things can and do happen in your life. Sandy was facing bankruptcy and foreclosure which are both really tough things to face. She had been trying to keep it all together and finally she could deny it no longer.

Sandy could have stayed in bed each morning bemoaning the choices she made that led her down this rotten path. She could have blamed the government, her family and her luck… anyone but herself.
Or she could think positive thoughts.
Realizing that things could actually have been worse, she could choose to look at the bright side of things. She didn’t deny that things were bad. Instead, she chose to use positive self talk to remind herself of the good things in life. She reminded herself that she was healthy and she would get over this.

Whatever it is that you are going through in your life, you will get over it or through it much easier with positive self talk. It’s not about putting your head in the sand and pretending things are good. It is about focusing on the positive aspects of any situation. There is always something positive to be found if you look for it.
Think about it for a moment, aren’t you naturally drawn to people with a positive attitude? I know that I am. I also see the difference in the way people treat me when I am feeling positive rather than when I am not feeling so good.
